Dr. Janet R. Streng

Dr. Streng earned her D.V.M. from the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. She has been a general practitioner at Greenwood Lake since 1996.

Dr. Streng says that professionally, “Nothing feels more rewarding than helping animals stay healthy or, if they’ve been sick or injured, helping them return to good health and comfort.”

A wildlife enthusiast, Dr. Streng also enjoys helping the occasional fawn, coyote, or bear cub that finds its way to Greenwood Lake before returning to the wild.

Dr. Streng lives in the community with her sweethearts, all of whom adopted and rescued her. Blue, the greatest of Danes; a Dark Handsome “Cowboy”; a transcendentalist mammoth donkey Emerson Rose; and Rufus, Emerson’s bratty brother; along with the ever-present souls of all her departed beloveds.
