Protect Your Pet From Disease

Vaccinations help prevent the spread of fatal and debilitating diseases. Prevention can assure quality of life for your pet at a lower cost than treating the disease.

At Greenwood Lake Animal Hospital, we offer comprehensive vaccination services tailored to your pet’s age, lifestyle, and risk factors. Our goal is to protect your pet and give you peace of mind.

Vaccine Schedules & Titer Testing

Schedules are determined by your pet’s age and the risk of exposure. Our doctors will discuss your risk/exposure factor and set a personalized schedule for your pet. Additionally, we offer Vaccine Titer Testing to clients who wish to ensure that their pet has the proper level of protection with the least amount of vaccine.

Personalized schedules help ensure your pet receives protection when they need it most, while minimizing unnecessary vaccinations.

Recommended Vaccinations

Annual vaccinations help prevent fatal and debilitating diseases. Prevention can assure quality of life for your pet at a lower cost than treating a disease. All warm-blooded animals (including humans), can be infected with the Rabies virus. Rabies is a fatal disease, caused by a virus, affecting the nervous system which is transmitted by a bite or saliva from an infected animal. By law, all dogs and cats must be inoculated by six months of age.

CONSULT

This is the first step in the full arch process. During this appointment, you will meet with your Dr. Kurt O. Bally DMD FICOI to discuss your needs and options for dental implants. The consultation will typically take about an hour. This first and free visit is $525 value.
STEP 1
STEP 2

RECORDS

Your dentist will take a series of records, including dental x-rays, 3D scans, and photographs. These records will be used to create a treatment plan and to fabricate your dental implants.

PRE-SURGICAL CONSULT

This appointment is held before the surgery to discuss the risks and benefits of the procedure, as well as the recovery process. You will also have a chance to ask any questions you may have.
STEP 3
STEP 4

SURGERY

This is the procedure where the implants are placed into your jawbone. The surgery typically takes about 2 hours per jaw and is done safely with oral anesthesia. All patients leave with their new temporary teeth on the day of the surgery and will return within 1-2 weeks to have their first post-op visit and receive their fist implant prototype teeth. It is important to remain on a very soft diet after surgery and before receiving your first prototype.

PROTOTYPES

1-2 weeks after your surgery you will return to check your healing and receive your first set of implant prototype teeth that will be attached directly to your implants. We allow up to 3 versions of teeth during the healing process to ensure the dentist and patient is happy with the look and feel. As your implants heal your dentist will create a series of prototypes for your implant bridge. These prototypes will be used to test the fit and function of the bridge before it is permanently placed.
STEP 5
STEP 6

HEALING

The implants will need to heal for 4-6 months before the next step can be taken. Dr. Bally will also provide a night guard to help prevent excess pressure from going to your implants. As you heal you will remain on a soft diet.

PROTOTYPING AND VERIFICATION

Once the implants have healed, your dentist will create a final prototype of your dental bridge. This prototype will be verified to ensure that it is the correct size, shape, and color. Before authorizing the fabrication of your new zirconia implant smile.
STEP 7
STEP 8

DELIVERY

This is the appointment where your permanent dental bridge is placed. The procedure typically takes about 1 hour. It's a truly rewarding visit for everyone.

POST-DELIVERY CONSULT AND DOCUMENTATION

This appointment is held after your new zirconia implant smile is installed and your final night guard is given and instructions to maintain your smile are discussed. Final pictures, X-rays and video mark the end of your zirconia implant smile journey.
STEP 9
STEP 10

MAINTENANCE

Your zirconia implant smile will need to be maintained on a regular basis to ensure that it continues to function properly. This may include cleaning, adjustments, and checkups.

Rabies Vaccination Protocol for Dogs
The first vaccination is given as a puppy, no later than 6 months of age. The next rabies vaccination is given within a year. This builds the level of immunity. Thereafter, your dog can receive a rabies vaccine every three years as long as you remain current on your vaccine schedule.
Rabies Vaccination Protocol for Cats
We use Purevax rabies vaccines for cats. This annual vaccine does not contain the chemical adjuvants included in other brands and virtually eliminates injection site reactions that have been occasionally seen in some cats.
Canine Distemper (DHPP)
The canine distemper vaccine is an inoculation that protects dogs against diseases including Distemper, Adenovirus, Parvo virus and Parainfluenza. The puppy series is then followed by an individual schedule recommended by your veterinarian based on risk and exposure.
Feline Distemper (FVRCP)
The feline distemper vaccine protects cats against threatening diseases including Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia. The kitten series is then followed by an individual schedule recommended by your doctor based on risk and exposure.
Feline Leukemia (FeLV)
Feline leukemia, sometimes a fatal disease, suppresses the cat's immune system, leaving the animal unable to fight off opportunistic infections such as pneumonia. After a negative blood test, a series of two vaccinations are given initially followed by annual boosters.
Heartworm Prevention (Canine)
Heartworms are parasites transmitted by mosquitoes. The parasites damage the pulmonary arteries causing respiratory and cardiac disease. An annual blood test and monthly tablets of Interceptor, a de-wormer, is recommended. In addition to heartworms, monthly Interceptor tablets prevent roundworm, hookworm and whipworm infestations.
Heartworm Prevention (Feline)
Cats are not as commonly infected by heartworms, but because of the increased presence of the disease, we are seeing an increase of cases. Symptoms of heartworm disease in cats occur when the larval heartworms arrive in the lungs or when the adult heartworms die. Monthly applications of Revolution is an effective way to prevent heartworms and round worms as well as control sarcoptic mange and kills fleas, ear mites and ticks.
Lyme (Canine)
Lyme is a bacterial disease spread by a variety of ticks. It strikes both dogs and humans and is very prevalent in this area. A series of two vaccinations are given initially followed by annual boosters.
Bordetella (Canine)
Bordetella, often referred to as "kennel cough", is an infectious organism that causes a severe cough to both puppies and adult dogs. Your dog should be inoculated at least two weeks prior to boarding.
